Well this was stellar, Leo. I loved your mom's thoughts on the situation, too. Your writing is *IT* my guy. Thank you for the deeply-researched and thought out piece! I cannot wait for your next take.

I was thrilled when I saw this land in my inbox. The Pepino community is so intense and there’s so much to take in — you did a great job in converting it into a long read and breaking down into the piles of paper on the floor. Can’t wait for the next instalment of snark history (I came via SmolBeanSnark).

Awesome thank you Rosie! There's been so many developments in Caro-land since I wrote about her a month ago it's kind of wild. It deserves a documentary series or something along those lines. I'm glad you stuck around!

Um this is a masterpiece. The quote from O’Neal as it relates to Genevieve was spot on. It was 2013 and Alex was everywhere- so beloved. He lied lied lied on that stand. And Genevieve reacted just the way they hoped, seeming unhinged. It hurts to think about. She was held at fucking Rikers. They ruined that woman’s sense of reality in order to validate a false one for Hillary. I can’t let that go whenever I think: who cares? Let her pretend and make all of us mothers with normal bodies post child rearing feel like shit. But the Genevieve situation is a tragedy born out of narcissism and jealousy.

Thank you for the comment Emily. It's such a heartbreaking story. It probably deserves an article all on it's own. I really wish it was easy to get the trial transcripts because I had to go off of the reporting in the newspapers and the bias was palpable.

This is brilliantly written and the mosaic metaphor is exactly right. Bravo.

I can only imagine the complexity of putting this piece together. These two are increidbly toxic and I feel terrible for their poor children. You get my vote to tell their tangled, messy story in a book!

I think there's enough material for sure. I could've kept going and that's a good suggestion. I know I am captivated by the bizarre saga for whatever reason. Thank you for your thoughts!

Gracias I have been so overwhelmed by how great the feedback has been on the piece and it's good to know it's getting out there via word of mouth. It's a super deep dive so thanks for reading Cara!

What a great article. I couldn't stop reading it and it was fun to see all the details in one space - especially the video link to the box shaped moon bump. Too me, that box shaped moon bump photo (with the photographer sitting next to her, eyes wide with shock) was the first smoking gun followed by the photoshopped 'on all fours doing yoga and the hair disappears' video. Amazing. Thanks!

It is one of my favorite things about the moonbump story. That photo deserves to be framed and put up in a museum. It captures the essence of the Hilaria vibe perfectly. Cheers and I'm grateful for the good feedback!

Loved all of this, Leo. You did an amazing job of encapsulating all of the tentacles and tangents into one great story! The agent provocateur is something we have thought about on the sub for a while & it wouldn’t surprise me a bit.

The PI nonsense Hillary claimed in Romper was (sorry) hilarious.

Thanks for writing this - @bettercallsaulomon

The Romper article was completely insane. I am starting to believe that Hilaria's PR people are secretly Pepinos so there might be a double or triple agent thing going on here. Or, more likely, no reputable PR agency can deal with the Baldwinitos so they're just winging it.

Thank you for reading and for the feedback! I hope this finds you well.

Brilliant essay Leo! You did us pepinos justice with this summary. I can only hope she’ll be exposed sometime soon. But I think we may have to wait for the baldwinitos to grow up and write a tell all.
